The esteemed international vehicle company BMW motors which has it’s exclusive two wheeler section named BMW Motorrad, launched a world class scooter into Indian market. This scooter is the costliest scooter ever launched in India till date named BMW C 400 GT. The unique feature of this scooter is that it cannot be started without wearing a helmet. BMW C 400 GT is basically a middle weight cruiser scooter and BMW motoradd is entering in Indian market with this new segment vehicle. The cost of this powerful beast is around ₹ 10.50 lakhs mainly due to the reason that it comes to Indian market as a CBU (completely built up)route.

No Helmet No Start:

BMW C 400 GT has a unique feature. Under the seat of the vehicle, there is a space named Flexcase.The helmet of the scooter is included in the case. The case has to be opened if somebody wants to drive the vehicle and one has to take out the helmet first for it. Then it has to be closed again. The Flexcase opens as soon as the helmet is put inside it and as long as it is open, the scooter is impossible to start. Without taking out the helmet the scooter will not start.

BMW C 400 GT has cruiserlike specs

BMW C 400 GT is a ICE ( Internal Combustion Engine) scooter having a liquid cooled 350 cc petrol engine. It generates 34 bhp power at 7500 rpm with a peak torque of 35 NM at 5750 rpm. The highest speed achievable is 139 kmph.

The weight of the scooter is 214 kg with a fuel tank capacity of 12.8 litres. The vehicle can accelerate 0 to 100 kph in just 8.98 seconds. The mileage is about 22 km per litre.

C 400 GT boasts of having Automatic Stability Control with multifunctional instrument cluster containing a 6.5 inch coloured TFT screen. The wheels have ABS brakes and the total unit is robust and sturdy. The seat storage compartment can hold a helmet but there are other options too for individualisation. One can opt for a topcase just at the rear back.The windshield is with scratch proof coating and is taller comparatively to give maximum protection. The scooter is fully customizable from paintwork to equipment. BMW is giving one the independence of configure their own C 400 GT with it’s configurator link. But one has to pay extra bucks for that. Though this link is valid at the present for Europe only.

In India the scooter comes in 3 colours. Style Triple Black, Alpine White and Callisto Gray Metallic.
