Poem 3 : Animals

I have seen a cobra protecting two puppies in a dark well,

And a monkey feeding a near dead kitten it’s breast,

I have seen a doggy dying in grief after the master’ s death,

And the dolphin waiting for a little girl to come home.

They never think themselves animals,

But beings in this vast velt planet called Earth.

They never think of saving the earth,

As they never overuse, overprotect, overthink and overwork.

All they do are natural things to living,

What may be called living a life, a life not only of their own.

I have seen tiny red ants gathering to predict impending storms,

And men failing as men trying hard to be humans.

Youths die of unemployment long before they get old,

And employed pundits retiring and waiting for death in some old age home.

Life is what is of a bluebird, a snail or even of a grasshopper’s.

Men can’t know what a life is, even if it is of their own.
